It's not really like stone or porcline (unless you get the expensive stuff) but is more like hard plastic. It comes in different mixtures to make the end result flexible or sturdy. It runs about $10-15 USD for a 1.75lb brick of white or $2 USD for a 2oz brick of color. It doesn't require a kiln, which is why I use it. It can be fired in a conventional over or a toaster over at 275 degrees F. I usually get it from large craft shops like Michaels, AC Moore, or Ben Franklin
